968 BOLT-ON POWER PACKAGE

   

The PowerHaus Bolt-On 968 Power Package is a comprehensive package for all 1992 and later 968s. While not including all possible improvements, it is composed of those items which we feel deliver the best bang-for-your-buck.

1. PowerHaus Engine Management Chip. Our chips are custom programmed by AutoThority, the best programmers in the business. The EPROM chip is designed to work specifically with our exhaust package, and can be custom-tailored for your specific vehicle.

2. PowerHaus Stainless Steel Exhaust System: Our lightweight "cat back" system is a bolt-in replacement for the heavy factory muffler. It is hand made from 321 alloy stainless steel, fully polished, and gives the car a deep, sporty sound. It is a direct bolt-in replacements for the OEM muffler, and use all OEM mounting hardware. A stainless catalytic test pipe is available for racing vehicles only -- inquire for details.

3. PowerHaus Air Intake System: A lightweight and very free-flowing replacement for the factory air box. Works well alone, or with our EPROM and free-flowing muffler. Includes air intake pipe, K&N filter, and all hardware.

This is approximately a 45 hp gain if measured at the flywheel on an engine dyno. There are further gains to be had in aggressive cylinder head preparation, but the returns would be slight when weighed against the costs.

968  Big Brake Packages

All Models 1992-1995

 
"Club Sport" Big Brake upgrade (call or fax for price)

This is the easiest way to get the Club Sport brake option without changing your front spindles. Vented and cross-drilled front and rear rotors, Brembo S4 calipers, pads, PowerHaus billet adapters, and all hardware and instructions. Increases brake pad surface area from 6.6 square inches to 10 square inches per pad; multiplied by the four pads this equals 40 square inches verses 26.4 square inches stock. This is a 23.3% increase in brake pad area, and a great increase in swept area. Fits OEM 16" wheels.

 

"968 Turbo S" (Big Red) Brake Package (call or fax for price)

Includes 3.6 Turbo brake calipers, 12-5/8" vented and cross drilled rotors, and PowerHaus billet adapters. Increases brake pad area 37.8%, from 6.6 square inches to 11.7 square inches per brake pad. A fantastic brake upgrade! Requires 17" wheels.

 

Twin Turbo (Red) Brake Package (call or fax for price)

The ultimate upgrade using the HUGE red calipers from the 1996 Twin Turbo. Includes cross-drilled rotors front and rear, all pads, hardware, and instructions. Capable of generating 2000 hp of braking force!* No finer package available. Requires 17" wheels.

Porsche produced a very small number of 968 Turbos for the non-US market: the limited edition 968 Turbo S. This vehicle sold for approximately 175,000 DM, and only had a standard eight valve cylinder head. Power was rated at 305 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque at 1.0 bar tested on an engine dyno.

PowerHaus consistently builds 944 Turbos that produce 320+ hp at the rear wheels from the 2.5L 8V engine. The output of the 3.0L 16V Turbo engine is guaranteed to be in excess of 400 hp, with equivalent torque. These are the same results Porsche achieves with the 1996 Twin Turbo.

This combination of horsepower and torque, coupled with the factory 6 speed gearbox, will produce a car with extraordinary ability. At the same time, there will be no loss of driveability or reliability from the turbocharger. The vehicle's near-perfect weight distribution will not be disturbed, so the car will continue to handle like the supercar it was intended to be.
